The metaphor of the map

Reading OpenUp in a nutshell Per Kroll, I found a very interesting light on the processes:

A process is like a map: Use it to Understand the big picture and as a reference, But When reality and the map do not match, trust reality.

namely:

A process is like a map: use it to understand the big picture and as a reference, but when reality and the map are not identical, to believe in the reality.

What we learn from this metaphor? That when you adopt a development process, it should be able to adopt and adapt. That process descriptions are as precise and detailed, not suitable or ideal for every application or every situation.

intelligence and common sense must always prevail.
